We’re gearing up again for Milwaukee’s best Mardi Gras party on March 5 and we hope you’ll join us! For our 12th annual party, we’re again switching over our entire menu to New Orleans specials for two days only.
We’re skipping our usual Low Country and BBQ mix for Maxie’s Mardi Gras party favorites. Hits include Alligator, Tasso & Pork Fritters, Crispy Chicken Thighs, Coconut Voodoo Shrimp, Crawfish Étouffée, Blackened Hamburger Steak, Blackened Sea Scallops, and of course, Boudin Balls and Muffuletta.
Drink specials for both nights include $4 Abita beers and $5 real passion fruit Hurricanes.
Lundi Gras, Monday, March 4, 4 p.m.
If you want to dine with New Orleans flair without dancing in the party tent, Lundi Gras is the night for you. Maxie’s opens at 4 p.m. on Lundi Gras. Members of the Extra Crispy Brass Band (ECBB) will perform roving throughout the restaurant from 6 to 9 p.m.
We’re accepting a limited number of reservations for parties of all sizes on Lundi Gras via 414-292-3969. On Lundi Gras, parties of up to 6 are encouraged to check live wait times and get on the list via the Yelp app’s waitlist feature. You can use the app to see how many parties are ahead of yours. Once you arrive, please check in with a host and we will seat you when your table is available and your entire party is present. This is not a reservations, wait times are estimates; seating order is not guaranteed.
Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday, March 5, 2 p.m.
Maxie’s opens at 2 p.m. on Mardi Gras. Matt “MF” Tyner will play onstage in the heated party tent from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m. ECBB will play onstage in the heated party tent from 6 to 10 p.m. An outdoor bar in the tent will serve the party’s signature drinks.
Maxie’s is not accepting reservations on Mardi Gras, March 5. The Yelp app’s waitlist remote check-in function will not be available on Mardi Gras. As it is the first Tuesday of the month, Black Shoe Hospitality Best Guest Club members can earn Double Points on non-discounted items.

A celebration of the blues, the transformative power of music, and the friendships that develop when artists collaborate, Satan & Adam tells the story of a blues duo. Sterling “Mister Satan” Magee and Adam Gussow played Harlem’s sidewalks in the late ’80s and early ’90s. A celebrated debut album seemed to have them primed for stardom, but their rise was cut short by Mr. Satan’s mysterious and sudden disappearance.

Blue’s Egg — “Daughter Of Mine (Figlia Mia)”
A young girl finds herself torn between two mothers in this stirring, sun-dappled drama. When Vittoria learns that her nuturing, supportive mother, Tina, is not her biological mother and, in fact, that honor belongs to the town wild child, Angelica, it kicks off a summer of simmering resentments.
Team Maxie’s is working on our next culinary collaboration: a whiskey-paired dinner featuring selections from Jefferson’s Bourbon. Jefferson’s is known for quality and for innovative and experimental blending and aging techniques. These quality and specialty bourbons — often aged in unique casks — will be an exciting match for a Southern-style supper. Four plated courses and a reception with hors d’oeuvres will be coupled either with craft cocktails featuring Jefferson’s mixed by Maxie’s bar team, or served on the rocks or neat.
For this dinner, our plan is to go “WHOLE HOG” — cooking an entire heritage breed hog and incorporating some of the pork in each course.
The dinner will also feature special pricing on additional pours of Maxie’s collection of Jefferson’s Reserve Selections. Sample 1oz pours available will include Jefferson’s Presidential Select 16-Year, Jefferson’s Grand Selection Chateau Pichon Baron Cask Finish, and Jefferson’s Reserve Pritchard Hill Cabernet Finish. Badger Liquor’s spirits ambassador will help guide us through the dinner and share insights about this unique whiskey producer.

Team Maxie’s will be down at Grant Park for a sublime evening on Aug. 23, when NEWaukee presents a progressive dinner and music event on the Seven Bridges trail. Wander through the forest, sip and sample local food and beverages, and make your way to the beach to enjoy the beautiful views of Lake Michigan on a warm summer evening.
You’re in for a helluva good time as longtime alt-country rockers the Old 97’s headline WMSE’s Backyard BBQ, a FREE day of concerts at Humboldt Park in Bay View, Milwaukee. Maxie’s is serving (and catering to the VIPs). Music starts at noon with WMSE DJs, followed by Buffalo Gospel with special guest, Vitrolum Republic, Altered Five Blues Band, and Bailey Dee, before Old 97’s go on at 6:30 p.m.
