| Here
at Maxie’s we take our environmental impact
seriously. Some of the steps we’ve take
to be green are:
All to-go packaging is recyclable. You, our fabulous
customers, can help us out by making sure you
recycle the containers you take home!
We print our menus on recycled stock, and recycle
old menus.
Our fryer oil is converted into bio-diesel fuel.
Maxie’s buys much of its produce from local,
organic farmers. Not only do our suppliers use
green practices, this saves on the fuel used in
transportation as well!
Notice our bartenders throwing all glass bottles
in a separate container. Call them out if you
catch them forgetting!
Maxie’s kitchen staff loves to compost –
and our local, organic farmers love to
take that compost off our hands.
All
of Maxie’s appliances and equipment are
ENERGY STAR rated.
As
a matter of fact, all our windows are ENERGY STAR
rated, as well.
If
you’ve enjoyed a delicious cup of Maxie’s
coffee, you’ve supported fair trade. We
purchase USDA Organic Fair Trade Certified Flamenco
French roast. Yum.
Have
you noticed the rain barrel in front of Maxie’s?
We water our plants and clean our sidewalk with
collected rainwater.
